Metric with Stars - Air Canada Centre - November 24, 2012

On Saturday November 24th, Emily Haines, James Shaw and the rest of Canadian indie-rock band Metric performed in front of 9,000 fans at Toronto's Air Canada Centre. The home-town show was in support of Metric's new album entitled Synthetica which was released in June of 2012.

Though there was very little verbal interaction with her audience, Emily Haines still managed to win-over her loyal fans through the use her eclectic dance moves, harmonic vocalizations, and electronically influenced instrumentals.

Also worth mentioning, Montreal/Toronto based band "Stars" put on an amazing opening set which focused primarily on their new release entitled The North.

With an abundance of disco-balls spinning along to tunes that were reminiscent of the 80's, lead singers Torquil Campbell and Amy Millan showed the audience that an opening act could be just as good as a headliner.

The 45 minute set was jam-packed with fan-favorites and recently released singles.

With both bands having ties to Toronto, I suspect that we'll be seeing more from both bands in the near future.

2012 Toronto Zombie Walk

On Saturday October 20, 2012 Torontonians gathered at Nathan Philips Square to celebrate the 10th Annual Toronto Zombie Walk.

Having previously participated in Winnipeg Zombie Walks, I knew there was no way I was missing out on the opportunity to kick-start my Halloween in Canada's largest city.

This year, the event organizers were expecting at least 10,000 zombies to terrorize the streets of Toronto.

Though I was part of the blood-sucking, brain-craving herd of wild zombies, I was able to take a few pictures to capture the event.

Though I would have liked to have taken more pictures, I'm sure there will be enough that surface in the days to come. At least one would hope with the amount of photographers that came out and lined the streets for the event...
